The National Alternative Education Association (NAEA) is seeking Energetic, Highly Motivated Individuals who are committed to best practice, resource sharing, research, and networking to Serve on the NAEA Board of Directors.
The vision of the NAEA is to provide outstanding, innovative, and professional services to education personnel both nationally and internationally to enhance programs, promote academic excellence, develop self-discipline, and create life-long learners in a multifaceted, diverse society.
NAEA is a volunteer organization dedicated to sharing information in professional development, best practice, public policy, and advocacy for alternative and nontraditional teaching and learning.
Commitments of NAEA Board Members:
Accepting an appointment as a member of the NAEA Board requires each Board member to commit to these expectations:
- attend and participate in all Board conference call meetings acting in the best interests of the NAEA membership during discussions and decision making;
- promote NAEA membership participation in NAEA programs, and provide information about current issues in alternative and nontraditional education to other professional organizations and contacts;
- secure sponsorships to support NAEA outreach programs.
Under the direction of the current Board, the new Board will be expected to oversee two or more of the following NAEA Goal Areas:
Regional Membership * State/DOE Initiatives * Conference Oversight * Organization Sponsorship *Student Support Services * Organizational Outreach and Membership Development * Teacher Resources and Evaluation * Program Management, Development, Evaluation * Awards and Recognitions Program * Student Representative Program
